This intense trek will enable your crew to see the sunrise from Comanche Peak, climb Big Red & Bonito Peak, and check out the wreckage of a B24 bomber on Trail Peak! Begin your trek by camping at Ute Springs and hiking up beautiful Grouse and Sawmill Canyons to Sawmill Camp. Learn to reload your very own .30-06 rifle bullets and shoot them at a state of the art shooting range. Hike up to Thunder Ridge and enjoy views of Touch Me Not and Baldy Mountain along the way. Continue on to to Comanche Peak Camp and pick out the ideal location for viewing the sunrise, just east of camp. Be amazed by views of Cimarroncito Peak, the mountains to the north, and the plains to the east! If your crew is up for the challenge, side hike Comanche Peak and Mt. Phillips. Grab your gear and continue your journey over Big Red and Bonito Peak on your way to Beaubien. Rope, brand, eat a chuckwagon dinner, and be entertained at the cowboy campfire before settling down for the night. Ride horses and work with Philmont's Conservation Department on a trail or stream restoration project before checking out the wreckage of a B24 bomber that crashed on top of Trail Peak in 1942. Enjoy the serene evening at beautiful Bear Caves Camp and reflect on your journey. Finish your trek by hiking to Stonewall Pass and over Lovers Leap. Next stopů Base Camp!
