here are astronomy, folk weather forecasting, and mountain biking. Yourcrew is off to the Baldy
country via spectacular Greenwood Canyon where you will have a chance to pan for gold, explore an
abandoned gold mine, learn to be a blacksmith, and summit Baldy Mountain, elevation 12,441 feet.
The last great program happens at Ponif, Philmont's original camp, where you can ride horses, brand
your boots & other gear, enjoy the cantina show, and finish with a delicious chuck wagon dinner and

2010 description: 'As your crew hikes up the sparkling Ponil River into the spectacular Valle Vidal (Valley of Life),
experience Philmont's very cool mountain hiking program at the beautiful Whiteman Vega! Two great
days at Copper Park trail camp will allow your crew to side hike Baldy Mountain, tour the famous Aztec
Mine and pan for gold at French Henry. Other action packed programs include astronomy, folk weather
and challenge events. Your last day on the trail brings you to Ponil where your crew will enjoy the
