2025 description: 'This itinerary spends significant time in the central country of Philmont in and around the 2018 Ute Park Fire recovery area with opportunities to learn about the ecology and effects of catastrophic forest fires and a chance to assist with the reforestation of this area. It also provides multiple opportunities for high adventure programs with a little bit of mining history thrown in. Crews hiking this trek should be prepared to hike early and keep an eye on weather while traversing exposed areas and canyons in the recovery area'
